Abstract

The homeroom teacher is a teacher who is entrusted by the principal to manage the class and control the students in the teaching and learning process, therefore, the role of the homeroom teacher is very important in the management of the class to foster and direct the students in achieving the desired achievements.The purpose of this study is to find out what are the efforts of the homeroom teacher in increasing student learning motivation and what are the obstacles of the homeroom teacher in increasing student learning motivation. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques researchers make the deepest observations about the subject of the study, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results and conclusions of this study are based on the results of interviews The homeroom teacher of class VII intreracted during learning by inviting them to joke so that students do not get bored quickly, get sleepy, class VIII chooses to take an emotional approach, for example, such as giving affection and attention to students, while in class IX the homeroom teacher uses a variety of interesting presentation methods,  provide competition, and judgment. And the obstacles faced by the homeroom teacher VII homeroom teacher have not found any problems at all, class VIII In class VIII the probelamatika faced by the homeroom teacher is promiscuity, and the environment of the protégé is not good. Meanwhile, in class IX, the problem is that the interest in learning students is still very lacking.
